Brian’s music reflects a lifetime of experiences
Like a character out of a Jack Kerouac novel, Brian spent his early adult life aboard oilfield supply boats in the Gulf of Mexico. Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, and served aboard a high-endurance cutter patrolling Alaska’s Bering Sea. Those rough, blue-collar, nautical adventures color Brian’s songwriting like rust and barnacles on an old ship’s hull. As a guitar player, fingerstyle is Brian’s super power. His voice can be rough as sandpaper or smooth as glass - depending on the song. You can catch him at various open mic nights, on YouTube, or, hanging out in his living room with a patient redhead and four music-loving cats.

Once in a while, the old-timer throws something up on YouTube. Here are some of the better ones.
Midnight And Lonesome
Brian covers this hit written by Buddy Miller and made popular by Tab Benoit. The split-screen is a lot of fun. Stay for the ending.
Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright
Brian posted this cover of the Bob Dylan classic to honor Bob on his 80th birthday. He says playing guitar and harmonica at the same time is a bit like that thing where you make circles with one hand on your belly while you tap the other hand on you head. It ain’t easy.
I Put A Spell On You
“I met the great Screamin’ Jay Hawkins when I was a kid. This is my homage to him.”
